The ending may have been written

I am totally unsurprised. The original Uru would've been fantastic but what we ended up with on GameTap was just a frustrating pale shadow. I found myself 'playing' the game more by reading the forums at Uru Obsession and then logging in to see whatever they were talking about. Combine this with the fact that the majority of the content was just the addition of ages we had previously explored in Path of the Shell and the pod ages which featured some of the most irritating puzzles in the history of the game. I don't find having to log in at a very specific point in time to have something happen to be either challenging or entertaining. I gave up on Myst Online many months ago.

I'm very disappointed that this was the fate of Mudpie but I know the game will live on through the CD game as well as the Until Uru servers. Here's looking forward to Cyan's next project and hoping that better success will be found through it.

I'm just hoping they release an expansion pack for the PC game again. Kind of unrealistic, I know, but I'd completed every single thing in every age two years ago, two weeks after I bought it. (Granted, I did a lot of gaming in those two weeks.) My library needs expanding. Maybe I should download some user -created ages...
